In-house training
2 - 2 hour drills a month
50% attendance requirement
All training is provided  by the Fire District
Paid-on-call status
Middleton firefighters are paid-on-call (paid for drills and calls)
Cadets start out at $9 / hour
Current scale tops out at $12 / hour
Increasing levels of pay are earned with certifications and training
Paging for calls
All Middleton firefighters carry pagers to alert them to a call
No duty shifts are used

We emphasize a positive atmosphere and open communication
Firefighting creates a certain amount of "emotional baggage" and we strive to support each other
Physical demands
Firefighting is a very physical job by nature
Health and fitness is encouraged of all members
We have exercise equipment open to use by all firefighters and their families
