The Preplan Division is a key part of our approach of being PROACTIVE
vs. REACTIVE. Our Preplan Specialist is responsible for gathering
critical information BEFORE an emergency situation arises. This allows us
to respond in the most expedient manner possible to handle any emergency.
Key Components of a Preplan
Site and floor plans
Special hazard identification
Specifics of alarm and fire suppression systems
Contacts for building owners and managers
How we use a Preplan
Preparation
We are able to make decisions about how to handle emergencies, knowing
the specifics of the structure.
Response
Responding personnel are able to review the preplan while enroute to an
emergency. Combined with the information received from the 911 call,
we are able to have an initial plan of attack before even getting on
location.
On Scene
After arriving on-scene, the Incident Commander is able to direct crews
more effectively as details of the emergency become clear.
What a Preplan looks like
Computer based system
We use Remote Access for our incident response system. It provides
a map to the location of the emergency, and the preplan information we have
gathered.
Structure information
At the touch of a button, a floorplan of the structure is displayed
Special hazards, fire protection systems
More details of the building are very quickly accessed.
